Worth seeing in Torun

Toruń is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. The best evidence of this is the fact that the Old Town has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997.

Viewing Platform – Panorama of Toruń, Majdany Street

The viewing point located on Kępa Bazarowa is often the first place tourists visit in Toruń. This is because it is located near the Toruń Główny train station. From the platform, you can see the beautiful and picturesque panorama of Toruń’s Old Town.

Old Town Hall, Old Town Square 1

The central point of the market square in Toruń’s Old Town. The building’s construction began in the mid-13th century. In 1703, during the Swedish siege of the city, the building caught fire and was subsequently rebuilt, with reconstruction completed in 1738. Today, the Old Town Hall houses the District Museum in Toruń, where you can see, among other exhibits, a portrait of Nicolaus Copernicus. A major attraction for tourists is also the Town Hall Tower, from which you can view the Toruń Old Town from above.

Invisible House, Strumykowa Street 5

Probably one of only five places in the world that shows the world by excluding the sense of sight. When visiting the Invisible House, you enter both the visible and invisible parts. The entire experience takes about 60 minutes.

Living Museum of Gingerbread, Rabiańska Street 9

The highest-rated tourist attraction in Toruń is the Living Museum of Gingerbread. Established in 2006, the museum offers interactive exhibits where visitors can see how gingerbread was made in the Middle Ages and at the beginning of the 20th century.

Leaning Tower, Pod Krzywą Wieżą Street 1

This 15-meter medieval tower leaned in its characteristic way due to the sands shifting under the weight of the building. Its deviation from the vertical is 140 centimeters. Today, the Leaning Tower is one of the symbols of Copernicus’ City and a must-see for many tourists visiting Toruń.
